سونیکید یا جنین یاب یکی از تجهیزات پرکاربرد در حوزه مهندسی پزشکی، می باشد . از این دستگاه جهت محاسبه تعداد ضربان قلب جنین و تشخیص صدای قلب با استفاده از روش ماوراء صوت داپلر استفاده می گردد . صدای قلب جنین از هفته چهاردهم بارداری در خانم‌های لاغر و در هفته بیستم در تمامی خانم‌های باردار قابل سمع است. در صورت شنیده نشدن این صدا احتمال مرگ جنین مطرح است ؛ لذا در این موارد جهت بررسی سلامت جنین ، پزشک از دستگاه سونیکید استفاده می کند. دستگـاه بـر مبنـای تئـوری داپلـر بـا سیستـم فـراصـوت و از طـریق پروب تبدیل‌کننده پیزوالکتریک ، صدای قلب جنین را منعکس کرده و از طریق بلندگو یا گوشی شنیده می شود.
